MULTI AXLES LOWBED SEMI TRAILER

A low bed semi-trailer is designed with an low cargo loading platform, namely the drop deck. Platform height is typically 0.8–1.2m, providing an extremely low center of gravity for enhanced driving stability and reduced rollover risk.Its low-profile configuration grants superior road adaptability for navigating bridges and tunnels, and reduces the center of gravity (COG) of loaded goods.With its recessed drop deck positioned beneath the front gooseneck and rear wheel sets, this trailer is structurally equipped with an integrated gooseneck, hence its widely adopted name: low bed semi trailer.In some countries, lowbed semi trailers are also referred to as lowboy semi trailers or low loader semitrailers.Standard load rating from 20 to 100 tons, with multi-axle versions capable of over 300 tons.
Multi-axle low-bed semi-trailers generally refer to those with more than 4 axles. The reason why multi-axle low-bed trailers are required in some countries is that local road regulations impose restrictions on per-axle load capacity. For instance, in some Central Asian countries, the load limit per axle is no more than 8 tons. Therefore, to transport 100-ton heavy cargo, it is necessary to adopt 6 axles ,7 axles ,8-axles,9 axles or 10 axles low-bed semi-trailers.

3.Classification：

When there are a large number of axles, fixed axles cannot meet the turning and passing requirements.
If all axles adopt the fixed type, the overall turning radius will be too large, leading to poor practical use performance.
To solve this problem, SHIYUN offers multi-axle low-bed semi-trailers with two different suspension types for customers to select according to their actual needs.

3.1 Multi axles low bed trailer with hydraulic lifting steering suspension

This SHIYUN lowbed semi-trailer is equipped with a hydraulic lifting and steering suspension. It realizes synchronous steering of all axles via the front fifth wheel hydraulic turntable. The suspension system enables both integral lifting of the entire trailer platform and independent lifting of a single axle.
The system achieves elastic support and attitude control through the pressure regulation of hydraulic oil. Its core functions include buffering road bumps, absorbing vibration and impact to protect the vehicle structure and cargo safety, precisely adjusting the vehicle height to adapt to different loading conditions and complex road conditions, improving driving stability and handling smoothness, and also enabling functions such as quick leveling and lifting.
Its core function is to reduce steering resistance and reduce driver workload through the hydraulic power amplification effect, while improving steering response speed and accuracy. This ensures maneuverability under heavy loads, low speed operations (such as port loading and unloading, site construction) or complex road conditions, reduces steering deviation, enhances driving stability, and adapts to the high steering load requirements of heavy equipment.This hydraulic cylinder is mainly used to adjust the vehicle height. By regulating the height, it greatly improves the trafficability under complex road conditions.
Lifting Hydraulic cylinder：As the core actuator of a hydraulic system, it converts hydraulic energy into mechanical energy to achieve linear motion, providing high-thrust, high-precision power output for heavy-duty trailers and other equipment. It is typically used for vehicle suspension support, attitude adjustment (such as vehicle height adjustment), or power control of chassis components.
For steering：This low-bed semi-trailer is generally designed with fixed axles and hydraulically steerable other axles, which enables it to achieve splay-angle steering.It is equipped with steerable axles, with a maximum steering angle of up to 55 degrees.
The steering function can be realized by equipping a hydraulic power unit and operating control valves.

3.2 Multi axles low bed trailer with air bag suspension

Hydraulic lifting and steering multi-axle low-bed trailers come with a relatively high cost. As an alternative model, the multi-axle low-bed trailer with liftable air suspension is a more economical option.Air suspension can be equipped with WABCO lifting control handles,The whole vehicle is generally equipped with air suspension, which enables both integral lifting of the entire platform and independent lifting of each single axle.When turning, to reduce the turning radius, the tires of the front three or four axles can be lifted to achieve a smaller turning radius.In addition, 1 to 2 follow-up steering axles can be added to further minimize the turning radius and deliver more flexible traveling and steering performance.

4.Features

SHIYUN lowbed semi-trailers can be designed with various widths to meet different requirements.The standard minimum width is 2 meters, while most customers choose a width between 2.5 meters and 3 meters.We can also customize trailers with a maximum width of up to 6 meters as per your needs.In addition to fixed-width designs, we can equip extendable brackets to achieve flexible conversion between different loading widths.

Due to the overall long length of multi-axle low-bed semi-trailers, equipped with a length telescopic structure can greatly improve the vehicle’s turning performance.The telescopic mechanism adopts pneumatic control pins. The pneumatic locking pins are used to adjust the telescopic length and fix the positioning. It supports single-section telescopic movement, as well as single and double-section combined telescopic operation.For the main beam, both double-beam telescopic type and single-beam telescopic type are available.The perfect telescopic extendable beam design is another key advantage of SHIYUN low bed semi-trailers.Unlike structures made of conventional Q345 steel, we use high-strength steel plates Q550, ensuring the telescopic beams resist deformation, extend and retract smoothly and efficiently, and completely eliminate the risk of failing to retract after extension.
