Full trailer

A full trailer, commonly referred to as a draw bar trailer, is equipped with a complete independent running gear and support system. It only needs a tractor for pulling, without bearing the load by the tractor. It can stand and park steadily on its own without relying on the tractor.

It features strong load capacity, solid frame structure, simple design and low failure rate. With large volume and high payload, it is suitable for bulk cargo, grain, powder materials, containers and tank transport.

The full trailer runs smoothly with good flexibility and trafficability, adapting well to rural roads, mining areas and long-distance transportation in Africa and other regions. It is easy to maintain with universal spare parts and low operation costs.

It supports drop-and-hook transport to improve logistics efficiency. Dimensions, axle numbers and specifications can be customized to meet the road regulations of your countries.

  • A full trailer bears all loads by its own axles and wheels. The tractor only provides traction force without bearing vertical loads. Adopting a drawbar structure instead of kingpin and fifth wheel, it is connected to the tractor via drawbar and hook with flexible multidirectional movement. Equipped with front and rear axles, it can park stably independently without supporting legs after separating from the tractor.
  • The front axle is fitted with a rotating turntable for flexible steering and swinging.
  • Also known as drawbar trailer, featured with front drawbar. The front towing ring/towing eye is 2-inch standard size, compatible with couplers of tractors and forklifts.The towing eyes at the front of the drawbar trailer can be connected with Rockinger bell mouth and other brands of bell mouth assemblies.
  • The drawbar features flexible steering, excellent trafficability in narrow spaces and small turning radius. It runs stably at a speed below 70 km/h, yet prone to tail swing and rollover at high speed. It is widely applied in agriculture and small mineral transportation.

Like semi-trailers, full trailers are classified into various types according to different application scenarios and superstructure designs.

1.Dolly draw bar trailer:

Generally, when converting a semi-trailer from semi-trailer towing mode to draw bar trailer towing mode, we can add a dolly equipped with a fifth wheel to achieve the conversion.

2.Skeleton draw bar trailer:

Skeletal type container full trailer is mainly designed to transport 20ft standard shipping containers. It is commonly made in 20ft size, and 40ft and other sizes can be customized as requested. Rigid suspension, leaf spring mechanical suspension and air suspension are optional. Tires can be selected according to customer requirements.

3.Flatbed draw bar trailer:

Flatbed container full trailers and ordinary flatbed full trailers are suitable for transporting 20ft, 40ft containers and bulk cargo. Rigid suspension, leaf spring suspension and air suspension are optional. Tires can be configured as required, equipped with twist locks.

4.Low bed draw bar trailer

Lowboy type full trailer can be equipped with rear ramps, allowing construction equipment to drive on and off easily. It is suitable for transporting small mechanical equipment and can also carry containers. Tire specifications can be customized according to customer requirements.

5.Dropside draw bar trailer:

Drop side full trailer, also known as side wall cargo full trailer. It is equipped with side walls based on flatbed trailer. Available in 2/3/4 axles, twist locks are optional. The side walls are detachable, featuring diverse functions and high flexibility.

6.Fence draw bar trailer:

Cage full trailer is also known as high side fence trailer. It is fitted with flower basket rails on the basis of drop side trailer. With higher side panels, it features larger loading capacity and is ideal for bulky cargo. It is available with 2, 3 or 4 axles.

7.Log draw bar trailer:

Log transport full trailer is specially used for log transportation. Log brackets are installed on the frame to fix logs stably. The bracket spacing and overall dimensions can be customized. It is available with 2, 3 or 4 axles. Leaf spring suspension, air suspension and single-point suspension are optional.

8.Dump draw bar trailer:

The tipper draw bar full trailer is equipped with an integrated hydraulic tipping system to lift the cargo body for fast automatic unloading. It adopts rear-tipping or side-tipping structure for high unloading speed and working efficiency.
The cargo body is thickened and reinforced with wear and impact resistance, suitable for bulk materials such as sand, gravel, muck, ore and grain.

9.Tank draw bar trailer:

For the transportation of flammable, explosive and common liquid goods, the drawbar tanker is an ideal option. It is available in 2-axle, 3-axle and 4-axle versions. The volume ranges generally from 5 cubic meters to 20 cubic meters, and can be fully customized according to customer requirements.
