Girder vehicle is also known as a long beam vehicle or long bridge vehicle.Generally, the length of the long beam ranges from 20 to 100 meters, with a load capacity from 30 tons to 400 tons. It is available with box-type girders and T-type girders.There are also some bridge components of over 1,000 tons, which are suitable for transportation in railway and high-speed rail projects. We can customize various support structures to accommodate girders of different shapes.

The long beam vehicle is a combination trailer or transporter designed for transporting ultra-long cargoes by supporting the two ends of the goods. It is the most efficient and cost-effective solution for hauling over-length and special-shaped cargoes, such as structural girders, long steel structures, long steel pipes, precast concrete beams and long bridge segments.

The trailer set consists of two parts: the front module is towed by a tractor or can be self-propelled; the rear module is a steerable dolly, which can be fitted with a small diesel engine to achieve manual steering.

1.Prime mover + steering dolly ( for 30-400tons girder transporting):

The tire-type beam transporter is currently the ideal special equipment for transporting precast girders in bridge construction. It is mainly applied to bridge erection sites, as well as working conditions where the precast girder yard is far from the bridge erection site.

The whole vehicle consists of two independent running units: the main vehicle(Prime mover) and the auxiliary vehicle(Rear steering dolly). Its professionally designed wheel base is universally suitable for the transportation of T-beams, box girders and 45-degree inclined girders. It effectively saves your capital investment, simplifies the transportation process, and greatly reduces construction time, labor and material costs.

Advantages: The overall length can be adapted to bridges of different lengths; it features a small turning radius. With a load-bearing structure like a carrying pole for spanning transportation, it has a low center of gravity and excellent stability.

Adopting a compact body structure, the vehicle is not limited by narrow passages such as tunnels and culverts, delivering excellent trafficability. The whole transporter consists of two independent operating units: the prime mover and the rear steering dolly, delivering better overall performance and running stability.The prime mover serves mainly to provide driving power.The steering dolly follows the prime mover to steer, enabling flexible transportation such as turning and passing obstacles.

It boasts superior overall performance with optional rigid suspension or leaf spring suspension. It features good driving stability, strong anti-rollover capacity and large load capacity.Adopting multi-axle independent suspension with automatic leveling system, it keeps the beam horizontal on rough roads and effectively prevents overturning.

  • Equipped with a turbocharged engine, it offers powerful performance and abundant torque reserve, with high working efficiency, energy conservation, environmental friendliness and outstanding climbing capability.Engines are available with optional brands and models, including Cummins and other well-known brands.The overall configuration can be selected according to customer requirements. We can also conduct parameter design, structural modification and customized production as requested by clients.
  • The power drive end is equipped with a 4-cylinder or 6-cylinder diesel engine, matched with a four-stage reduction gear system. It adopts wheel-side planetary gear drive, and is fitted with hydraulic steering and air brake systems, with multiple forward and reverse gears available.
  • The driven end (trailer dolly) is equipped with a single-cylinder diesel engine, which only provides power for hydraulic steering without driving function, featuring flexible follow-up steering performance.The rear steering dolly can be equipped with either leaf spring suspension or rigid suspension, and can be customized according to customers’ requirements.

Girder beam transporter adopts full-hydraulic steering with synchronous steering of the main and driven vehicles. Even with a long vehicle body, it can achieve small-radius turning and move flexibly across construction sites.

  • Girder carrier vehicle features powerful diesel output. The driving speed ranges from 0 to 6 km/h under heavy load and 0 to 25 km/h with no load, fully meeting the requirements of construction site operation and site relocation.
  • Girder transporter adapts to longitudinal slopes of ≤4%~5% and cross slopes of ≤2%~3%. It can travel smoothly on gravel roads, dirt roads and muddy sites without the need for track laying.
  • Girder transporter trailer is suitable for transporting bridge components, cement blocks, cement piles, as well as large and ultra-long tank bodies. It can handle a wide range of over-length and over-weight cargo.We can design custom turntables to fit arc structures with different diameters. This makes the binding tighter and more reliable, and ensures more stable transportation.

1.SPMT FOR OVER 500 TONS GIRDER TRANSPORT:

For giant bridge components and railway bridges over 500 tons, we recommend using SPMT self-propelled modular transporters.This type of vehicle features a larger load capacity and can be spliced infinitely.
Driven by a PPU power unit, it delivers superior driving stability.
Meanwhile, its cost is relatively higher, making it ideal for the transportation of extra-large bridges.
